Sérgio M. Jesus
Current interests and on going projects
His current interests are centered on signal processing and underwater acoustic communications
in particular dealing with inverse problems such as source localization, geoacoustic inversion
and tomography. He is now involved in the following projects:
- HFi: a Portugal - US collaboration on
High - Frequency acoustic variability for communications, tomography and source localization.
- ESONET: european Network of Excellence for
Seafloor Observation.
- WEAM: Wave Energy Acoustic Monitoring.
- PHITOM: PHITOM - Probabilistic
High-Frequency Ocean Tomography for Underwater Communications and Navigation.
- UAN: UAN - Underwater Acoustic Network.
- OAEx: OAEx - Ocean Acoustic Exploration.
He is coordinator of the Signal Processing Laboratory (SiPLAB) part of ISR and General Director of CINTAL. Since January 2009 he is holding the position of Vice-Rector for Research
at the University of Algarve.
