My main area of research is
Theoretical Biophysics, and, for a number of years now, I have been
mostly interested in the mysteries of protein folding and function, as a
member of CCMAR.
For this, I do computer
simulations and apply models first developed for Solid State Physics
and
Nonlinear Physics (for a thorough review of this field please see
The Encyclopedia of
Nonlinear Science).
More details about my
research can be found
here.
My teaching activities are
summarized (in Portuguese)
here.
