  • Study of the decline disease of Quercus suber and Quercus rotundifolia aiming at the management of the genetic/biological control of the disease. Studies on molecular interactions Phytophthora cinnamomi-Quercus suber in connection with the infectious process.

      •Identification and characterization of cork oak and holm oak trees tolerant to the decline disease associated with Phytophthora cinnamomi and evaluation of genetic and biological measures for its control.
      •The transcriptome analysis (ESTs) of Q. suber roots directed to genes related to biotic stress caused by Phytophthora cinnamomi infection.
      •Identification and production of active compounds against Phytophthora cinnamomi by Phlomis purpurea.
      •Metabolome and transcriptome analysis of Phlomis purpurea a plant resistant to Phytophthora cinnamomi.

  • Study of candidate genes as molecular markers in dairy indigenous species. Genetic and morphological characterization of indigenous bovine breeds.
